International PC Consortium (IPCC) SYMPOSIUM
May 2-3, 2006 - Philadelphia, PA
Envision Success: PC Clinical Trials
Members of the IPCC can access slides of the presentations at the special IPCC Member Site now available at IPCC Member Site.
If you would like to participate with the IPCC, please contact us.
The IPCC meeting was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania May 2-3, 2006 as an ancillary event prior to the SID Annual Meeting. We appreciate the support of the SID very much.
More than 30 physicians and scientists attended the two-day meeting. The focus of the IPCC is to develop translational research approaches and implement strategies for effective therapy for PC and then to determine the most efficient systems for delivery of those therapies to PC patients.
2006 Program
As a result of the symposium an Action Plan for the IPCC has been developed which is summarized below. For details see the IPCC Newsletter, Vol 3, No 2 available at the IPCC member site or request a copy.
1. Continue efforts to bring siRNA to clinical trial.
2. Continue development of the PC mouse.
3. Explore use of ‘graft chamber’ technology to create
4. Further siRNA efficacy testing in mice. This will be
5. Develop immortalized cell lines that express K6a and K16 mutations.
6. Continue small molecule drug screening.
7. Continue grant applications.
8. Develop PC ‘synthetic human skin.’
The 2006 IPCC Meetings were held at the Loews Hotel adjacent
to the Philadelphia Convention Center and the Marriott Hotel (site of the SID Annual
Meeting).
Two very full days of scientific presentations!

Followed by an opportunity to 'catch the vision' from the Philadelphia Zoo Hot Air Balloon and a catered dinner in the rare
animal exhibit hall -- in keeping with the symposium theme "Envision Success: PC (rare!) Clinical Trials."
