My Story:
Joshua McPeak
An active 8 year old, Joshua is learning how to avoid fingernail infections
It took 2 years before we found out that I had PC and were introduced to the PC Project. We have learned a lot about PC and we have even had to teach my doctors about it since they always think it is something else.

I don’t let the PC slow me down. I’m very active and last summer I even joined the cross country team.
My fingernails and toenails grow really big and I have to keep them trimmed. My dad uses a Dremel to file them down. I need to be careful with my fingernails since they become infected, cause excruciating pain, and then the nail falls off.
NOTE FROM PC PROJECT: Children have more nail infections than adults because their hands go everywhere. Some tips are in the Caring for PC: Nails in the Video Library.
