PC Valentines

“My hubby, Justin, would be my PC Valentine he helps me whenever he can, carries me sometimes, and does things when my feet are too bad to do things. He is always worried about my feet.” – Rachel

“My great grandson Krew. Who is the funniest and happiest little boy. We love him so much and pray that a cure will be found for him” – Janette

“My PC valentine is my granddaughter Leah she is my only grandchild with PC out of 4, she never complains and has been a joy in my life. Her hobby is playing the drums !!! she very good .bit of a bookworm !! and very creative.” – Linda

“My dearest Erin, This Valentine’s Day, I want you to know just how much your love and support mean to me. Until you came into my life, my condition was a mystery. Doctor after doctor couldn’t pinpoint what exactly it was, and with each hospital visit, I felt like I was a showcase of something unknown and intriguing, but never truly understood. But then came you, determined and curious. You poured your heart into researching possibilities. You found the PC Project and said, “This might be it.” You were right. Thanks to you, I finally got the diagnosis I’d been waiting for all my life. Now, I’m receiving proper help from the healthcare system, all because you believed in me and looked deeper. Every day, I’m humbled by your compassion and inspired by your drive to become a clinical neuropsychologist to help people. You remind me that love can be so much more than affection. It can be a guiding light in the dark. Because of you, I am no longer lost. Because of you, I understand my body and my life in ways I never thought possible. Thank you for seeing past the unknown to the very heart of who I am. Thank you for standing by me, for cherishing me, and for loving me just as I am. I can’t imagine life without you, and my gratitude knows no bounds. You truly are the love of my life. With all my heart, Nick”

“I have THREE very special PC Valentines this year! Big Thomas, Little Thomas and Rowdy. These boys are truly so amazing and mean the world to me” – Sarah

“Hola, él es Tuto, mi novio, #MyPCValentine, su amor por mí es tan grande, que siempre me ayuda cuando no puedo caminar más. Él lava mis pies, me hace un poco de masaje, me obsequia zapatos cómodos y nunca me juzga cuando digo que me siento cansada y adolorida de mis pies. Desde el primer día que nos conocimos le hablé de mi condición y solo se ha preocupado por entender el PC y por ayudarme en lo que más pueda” – Diana

“My first date with Eddie was a long hike in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. By the time we returned to our car, my PC feet were raging. I was limping with pain. I removed my hiking boots and socks and revealed to this man my genetic disorder of K6a. I thought that would be the end of our dating but was hoping to remain friends. He was a Mazama Member (a hiking club) and I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep up with him. Instead, he offered to rub my feet and asked what he could do to make me feel better. He stuck with me and we still had many camping and outdoor hiking adventures that were within my abilities, and not his. He planned biking and river rafting outings instead of advanced hikes. We’re still together for almost 29 years! We have two children, both with the same PC as me) and headed towards our 26th Anniversary.” – Sarah

“My PC Valentine is my husband, the ultimate superhero of my life for three fabulous years! This sweet soul cooks and cleans like a champ, letting me relax on the couch when I’m feeling like I couldn’t take another step. He’s my personal cheerleader, nudging me to try (even when my feet are staging a protest), but always offering his arm for a little support. There is never an argument from him when I need to skip events or take breaks! Tom’s like a caring coach, constantly checking in to see if I need additional time to file my feet down or a dose of pain meds. Seriously, my husband Tom is a treasure!” – Michelle

“My PC Valentine is my son Thomas. He is the sweetest, most thoughtful, and caring son and brother there is! Thomas loves wrestling, football, basketball, fishing, riding his 4 wheeler and his dirt bike. He makes us so proud each and everyday!” – Rachel

“Él es José Tomás, mi PC Valentine; lo es porque seremos padres y mi mayor temor es que el bebé nazca con mi condición, sin embargo él me ha dado mucho apoyo y me anima a estar tranquila; me dice que soy fuerte y que si el bebé presenta PC, lo enfrentaremos juntos, me indica que no estoy sola. Me acepta y me da la seguridad que a veces tanto necesito.” – Paola

“My PC Valentine is our 22 year old son, Sam, who is simply amazing! Despite the awful pain he suffers on a daily basis he has put his energy into composing electronic music with his artist name GS.ESK. He is on Spotify and Sound Cloud and is managing to perform every weekend, although it is difficult to be on his feet all evening! He is our hero and we love him so much!”
