Ideas for parents raising children with PC or other rare skin diseases

If you have been to a Patient Support Meeting, you know we like to have different presentations to educate, help, and uplift all in attendance. We always invite members from our community to share experiences and these are often the best sessions. At the Portugal Patient Support Meeting in September 2024, we invited Claudia Avella, child and adolescent psychiatrist, but more importantly, a mother of a spontaneous PCer from Spain, to share her thoughts about parenting a child with PC.
We loved her ideas so much, we asked her to share them with our entire community, specifically for new parents who just found out their child has PC.
Watch her strategies below in English or Spanish. Thank you, Claudia, for sharing your expertise and insights, which apply to parenting children with all rare, genetic skin diseases.
(We love learning from each of you. If you have ideas to share, please send them to info@pachyonychia.org.)
